Kbal Spean is referred to as "a spectacularly carved riverbed, established deep inside the jungle to the northeast of Angkor".[4] The river over which the bridge head exists is generally known as Stung Kbal Spean, a tributary on the Siem Reap River that rises from the Kulein mountains north of Banteay Srei. The river mattress cuts by way of sandsto
